This site was created by Virgile Esnaux as part of a pedagogical project carried out in 2025 in the MMI department of Montbéliard. This work is part of a reflection on the Matilda effect, a historical phenomenon that reveals the tendency to minimize or render invisible the contributions of women in sciences and technologies.
The choice of Ada Lovelace as the central subject became evident, as she perfectly embodies this struggle against oblivion: the first programmer in history and a visionary of computing, Ada Lovelace's work has long been overshadowed by that of her male counterparts. This project aims to shed light on her intellectual legacy, to better understand the issues of equality in scientific recognition, and to inspire future generations through the story of a pioneering woman.
